OUR STORY
The Hemp Butter Company was founded and run by two creatives, Hasanthi & Leigh. We are a company that focuses on creating premium plant based spreads using hemp seeds and tree nuts. Our high quality hemp based spreads are nutritious, natural and nutty delicious. We are the first in the New Zealand market to produce hemp seed spreads.
Who we are. We are food lovers and good friends. We started The Hemp Butter Co. when we were both on a journey to find healthy food alternatives that were also tasty! With a lot of fun, laughter and a bit of serendipity along the way, here we are today presenting our naturally delicious, nutritious, healthy hemp seed butter range.
Our products are made using fresh New Zealand hemp seeds combined with premium quality tree nuts and spices to give us the perfect blend of flavour and nutrition. We use creamy almonds from California, Sweet Turkish hazelnuts, maple syrup from Quebec and spices from beautiful Sri Lanka. All our products are made in small batches to give a little extra care and love, providing the the very best quality products.
Why are we different? We use a high percentage of hemp seeds in our range with a minimum of 29% in all our products. We also have a product that is unique to the market - our Original Hemp Butter, which is 99.4% New Zealand hemp. Our products have an abundance of nutritional benefits - a source of omega 3, vegan, low sugar, the optimal range of omega 3 to 6 and all essential amino acids. Our Original Hemp, Almond Hemp and Maple Almond Hemp Butters are also a source of protein. All our products are preservative free and made in New Zealand.
